Earlier this winter, Léman was excited to participate in the Hour of Code, a celebration of computer science where every student, PreK 3 through the 5th grade, had a chance to code. The Hour of Code is a global movement reaching tens of millions of students in hundreds of countries around the world as part of National Computer Science Education Week. It celebrates the effort of schools in the 21st century who not only teach children about different technologies and how to use them but help their students understand how technology works. Computer science teaches children about logic, problem solving, creativity, and computational thinking. It teaches students how to think differently about problems they are trying to solve. Very simply, computer science teaches children how to create technology, not just be technology users!
